Custom Racing Stripes & Vinyl Graphics
in Los Angeles, CA

Where can you go to get stripes on your car? Right here in Los Angeles. From classic dual racing stripes to custom hood accents, side graphics, and bespoke vinyl patterns — we design and install precision-cut stripes using 3M Knifeless Tape technology. Factory-quality results that turn heads across the Los Angeles County.

CUSTOM ACCENTS

Racing Stripes, Hood Graphics & Custom Vinyl Designs

Not every personalization needs a full wrap. Sometimes the right set of racing stripes, a hood accent, or a custom side graphic is all it takes to transform a stock vehicle into something unmistakably yours. We design and install precision-cut vinyl accents for drivers across the Los Angeles County who want factory-quality results without the factory limitations.

Whether you are looking for the classic dual-stripe look made famous by American muscle cars, a subtle hood accent that draws the eye without overwhelming the design, or a completely custom graphic that no one else on the road has — we can design it, print it, and install it in our Los Angeles facility.

Our stripes and graphics are cut from the same premium cast vinyl we use on full vehicle wraps: 3M 1080/2080 Series, Avery Dennison SW900, and Inozetek Super Gloss. That means the same durability, the same color stability, and the same clean removability when you are ready for a change.

Every stripe application starts with a digital design preview so you can see exactly how the layout will look on your specific year, make, and model before a single piece of vinyl touches the paint.

OPTIONS

Types of Stripes & Vinyl Accents

From factory-inspired racing stripes to one-of-a-kind custom graphics — every design is tailored to your vehicle and your vision.

Dual Racing Stripes

The classic center-stripes running from nose to tail. Available in equal-width, offset, or tapered configurations. Works on hoods, roofs, trunks, and full body lines. Perfect for muscle cars, sports coupes, and modern performance sedans.

Hood & Roof Accents

Single or double stripes limited to the hood, roof, or trunk lid for a cleaner, more restrained look. Great for daily drivers who want visual impact without committing to a full-body stripe.

Side Stripes & Hash Marks

Fender-to-door hash marks, rocker panel stripes, and side-spear accents that emphasize body lines. Popular on European sports cars and modern American muscle alike.

Custom Vinyl Graphics

Bespoke patterns, geometric designs, and brand-inspired graphics cut to your exact specification. We can replicate factory heritage designs or create something completely original.

Decals & Lettering

Custom text decals, model badging, and brand lettering in matching or contrasting vinyl. Ideal for car clubs, track-day builds, and personalized model designations.

Panel Inlays & Overlays

Vinyl inlays for grilles, side mirrors, roof panels, and spoiler accents. A cost-effective way to add contrast and texture without wrapping the entire vehicle.

VINYL VS. PAINT

Why Choose Vinyl Stripes Over Paint?

Painted stripes are permanent. Vinyl gives you the look with none of the commitment — and a level of precision that brush and tape simply cannot match.

Reversibility

Tired of the look in two years? Vinyl peels off cleanly and returns your paint to factory condition. Painted stripes require sanding and repainting to remove.

Precision

3M Knifeless Tape creates razor-sharp edges with zero risk of cutting into the clear coat. Painted stripes depend on masking tape skill and human steady hands.

Cost

Vinyl racing stripes typically cost a fraction of a professional paint job. You get visual impact without the four-figure paint-shop invoice.

Color Options

Want gloss white today and matte black next year? Vinyl lets you change colors, finishes, and widths without touching the paint gun.

Protection

The vinyl layer acts as a sacrificial barrier against rock chips, UV fading, and minor abrasions on the panels it covers. Paint offers no such protection.

Install Time

Most racing stripe installs are completed in a single day. A painted stripe requires prep, base coat, color coat, clear coat, and cure time — often 3–5 days.

PRECISION TECHNOLOGY

3M Knifeless Tape Technique

We do not freehand-cut vinyl on your paint. Every stripe we install uses 3M Knifeless Tape — a filament-based cutting system that lays down a high-strength thread beneath the vinyl layer. Once the vinyl is squeegeed into place, pulling the thread upward slices the film with surgical precision, leaving a perfect edge and zero blade contact with your clear coat.

This technique is what separates a professional stripe install from a DIY attempt. Knifeless Tape maintains consistent line width across curves, hood bulges, and body lines that would be nearly impossible to mask by hand. The result is a stripe that looks like it came from the factory — or better.

For complex multi-stripe layouts, hash marks, and geometric patterns, we combine Knifeless Tape with digital plotter cutting. The design is vector-mapped to your vehicle's dimensions, pre-cut on our plotter, and then laid using Knifeless Tape for the final edge finish.

OUR PROCESS

How We Install Your Racing Stripes

Six steps. Zero shortcuts. Every stripe is installed with the same precision we apply to a $4,000 full vehicle wrap.

Surface Prep

The panel is washed, clay-barred, and wiped with isopropyl alcohol. Even a single speck of dust under a stripe edge will be visible, so we treat prep as seriously as we do on a full wrap.

Layout & Measurement

We mark centerlines, measure offsets, and apply masking guides to ensure perfect symmetry. For dual stripes, both sides are measured independently and checked against each other.

Knifeless Tape Application

The filament thread is laid along the exact path of the stripe edge. For curved body lines, the tape is heated and formed to follow the panel contour without wrinkling.

Vinyl Lay & Squeegee

The vinyl stripe is positioned, floated into place, and squeegeed from the center outward to eliminate air bubbles and ensure full adhesion across the entire surface.

Filament Pull & Trim

The Knifeless Tape filament is pulled upward through the vinyl, creating a clean cut. The excess vinyl is removed and edges are post-heated to lock the adhesive bond.

Final Inspection

Every edge is inspected under LED lighting. We check for lift points, contamination, and alignment symmetry. The vehicle does not leave until the stripe passes our standard.

AFTERCARE

Caring for Your Vinyl Stripes

Racing stripes are low-maintenance, but a few simple habits will keep them looking crisp for years.

Wait Before Washing

Give the adhesive 48–72 hours to fully cure before running the car through a wash or hitting it with a pressure washer.

Hand Wash Recommended

Automatic car washes with spinning brushes can catch stripe edges. Hand washing with a soft mitt and pH-neutral soap is safest.

Avoid High-Pressure Directly on Edges

When using a pressure washer, keep the nozzle at least 12 inches from the stripe edge and avoid angling the spray directly under the vinyl lip.

Use Spray Wax, Not Paste

Spray-on detailers and sealants are easier to apply around stripe edges than paste wax, which can build up along the vinyl boundary.

Park in Shade When Possible

All vinyl benefits from reduced UV exposure. Parking in a garage or shaded spot extends the color stability and adhesive life of your stripes.

Inspect Edges Periodically

A quick visual check of stripe edges every month helps catch any lift before it spreads. If you see an edge lifting, call us — small fixes are fast and usually free under warranty.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Racing Stripes & Vinyl Graphics FAQ

Everything you need to know before booking your custom stripe install in Los Angeles.

How much do racing stripes cost?

Most dual racing stripe installations range from $400–$900 depending on width, length, and complexity. Hood-only accents start around $250. Custom graphics and multi-panel layouts are quoted individually. We provide exact pricing after the digital mockup is approved.

How long does the install take?

A standard dual-stripe install is typically completed in 4–6 hours and ready for pickup the same day. Complex multi-panel graphics or custom patterns may require overnight curing before the vehicle is released.

Will the stripes damage my paint when removed?

No. We use premium cast vinyl with a removable adhesive rated for 5–7 years of outdoor exposure. When removed properly with heat and slow peeling, the paint underneath is returned to its original condition. We recommend professional removal if the vinyl has been on the vehicle for more than 3 years.

Can I wash my car normally after getting stripes?

Wait 48–72 hours before the first wash. After that, hand washing is recommended. Automatic brushes can catch edges over time. Pressure washers are fine if you keep the nozzle at a safe distance from the stripe edges.

Do you offer warranty on stripe installs?

Yes. All racing stripe and vinyl graphic installations carry a 1-year workmanship warranty covering lifting, bubbling, and adhesive failure. The vinyl itself is backed by the manufacturer warranty — 3M, Avery Dennison, or Inozetek — which typically covers color fade and material defects for 5–7 years.

Can you match factory stripe designs?

Absolutely. We have vector templates for most factory stripe packages from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, BMW M Performance, Mercedes-AMG, and more. If you want an exact OEM replica or a modern reinterpretation of a heritage design, we can produce it.

What colors and finishes are available?

We stock gloss, matte, satin, metallic, and carbon-fiber-look vinyl in dozens of colors. Custom color matching is available with a 1–2 week lead time for specialty orders. During your consultation, we will show you physical samples so you can see the exact finish under our shop lighting.

Can stripes be installed over PPF or ceramic coating?

Stripes can be installed over paint protection film without issue — in fact, many clients wrap the full car in PPF first, then add stripes on top. For ceramic-coated vehicles, the coating should be at least 30 days cured. We can also apply a ceramic top-coat over the stripes for added gloss and protection.
